The knife is used but not abused.  I actually improved it on several levels.  First of all, this one came with a nice high grind, but not a true scandi grind.  I convexed the edge to a razor sharp, yet still very beefy edge.  It will slice a tomato but still can do all your bushcraft tasks and file a Buick or Oldsmobile.  The nickel silver guard has been softened up a little by rounding all the edges.  Who needs sharp corners and edges on a knife, other than the blade.  

This is an older one, from the 80's and uses their older version of black Micarta which in the sunlight can have a slight green hue to it.  Very cool.  The handle was also shaped very nicely and is large.  If you have smaller hands, you can always remove some more material to fit it to you.  I wear a size large glove and this knife feels great in my hand.  It is also a thicker piece of 1/4" stock than the newer versions I have been getting from Randall.  As they are all handmade, there are going to be variations.  I like the way this one turned out.
