Stag handle with thong hole and a great round consistent shape and quite straight.

Brown sheath with stone pouch.

The knife is brand new and unused and ready for action.  

My thoughts on this knife: This is the Model 23's big, very big, brother. The 23 was actually borne of this model.  The 19 is a wider blade, heavier and also has more curve to the cutting edge than the 23.  Like the 23, the top edge is sharpened for serious bone breaking or chopping.  This is the 4" version which I actually feel is more of a manageable size than the 5".

Forged from 1/4" stock

Maroon Micarta Handle with Finger Grooves and the Famous Ward Gay shape.

I chose this one due to the shape of the handle and the configuration of the finger grooves.  If you notice, the grooves are canted ever so slightly from top left to bottom right.  For a right-handed person, this is primo!!  Feels great.  Most of the other Ward Gay 20's I've received have had the grooves cut straight across.  Sure, those feel very nice as well, but this one is just a little extra special.

This one I special ordered after I saw one of their Mini Woodcraft knives in a different configuration.  I thought it would be cool to have this in the same handle as the larger drop point hunter I have for sale as well.  They hand forged with a razor sharp hollow grind and the very cool looking Hammer Marked steel. The Brass guard is then silver soldered.   If you have never used horsehide, give it a try.  It provides superior grip in dry conditions, and then when it gets wet, it provides an even better grip.  It has amazing properties and is incredibly resilient.  That, paired with O1 Tool Steel and you can't go wrong.  In the right hands, this could be all you need to take into the woods with you.
